Down towards the plain, there is Villefranche de Conflent with its 17th century ramparts and nearby grottos of natural and wonderful formations. During the month of June, Prades hosts its annual festival of music in honour of Pablo Casals.

With the “petit train jaune” (little yellow train) you can gently travel across the Cerdagne and take in its impressive and quite unique landscape. This train is also practical as it takes you all the way to Villefranche with a stop at the Saillagouse railway station.
